Richard explores literature from the later 18th and early 19th centuries, and he focuses on women’s writing, children’s literature and ideas around the home and domestic life. To this end he often studies culture alongside literature. He has explored works by Jane Austen, Maria Edgeworth, and Anna Letitia Barbauld. Richard is a current lecturer at Leeds university.
